The City of Fort Dodge is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Director of Fort Dodge Fiber, the city's planned fiber broadband utility.
Fort Dodge Fiber is a startup municipal broadband utility being constructed starting in 2022, with first pilot customer testing planned for October 2022. Fort Dodge Fiber will offer 10-Gig capable internet and phone service to approximately 10,900 potential residential customer premises and 1,220 business locations.
Fort Dodge Fiber is under the general supervision of the Assistant City Manager, who reports to the City Manager, with the utility under the governance of the Mayor and City Council. The Fort Dodge Fiber Director will directly oversee the customer experience, network operations, and outside plant maintenance teams.
